Interim CEO for the transformation of a Transportation corporation

Interim CEO for the turnaround of a company - Chief Operating Officer

Context & Objectives

The company, active in the passenger transport, sector is facing a very significant (and probably structural) decline in its business, which, for the first time in its history, has placed it in a delicate financial situation. After attempting to remedy the situation through “traditional” means of “rapid” staff reductions and cuts to certain fixed costs, the shareholder realizes that these adjustments will be insufficient and that a much more profound transformation of processes is necessary to sustainably turn the company around.

Mission

The decision is therefore made to call on the services of an interim CEO in charge of the transformation, with the following objectives

  • Assume the full role of Chief Executive Officer for “operations transformation”;
  • Identify, organize, manage, and implement all transformation projects and initiatives;
  • Resume the project to integrate a new information system currently being installed;
  • Study and implement the digitization of key processes that are particularly resource-intensive;
  • Overhaul the organization, rethinking all workstations, tools used, and working methods.

Results

After a 12-month assignment, the company is on the road to recovery, which is clearly confirmed a few months later. The bankers, who had been waiting to see what would happen, then renew their support.
